The Pride of Indy Marching Band (often accompanied by the Visual Ensemble) is a staple in Indianapolis's annual Pride parades. The Marching Band has also performed in other Indianapolis parades, including Drum Corp International's "Celebrate Indy Arts!" parade (part of the 2011 DCI World Championships) and the Indianapolis Museum of Art's "On Procession" parade in 2008. In 2009, we traveled across the state line to Columbus, Ohio, to march in the Pride Parade and join Columbus's own Captial Pride Band for some performances on-stage (pics & videos here). Our marching musicians also perform with other sister bands across the country, supplementing the Pride celebrations and sharing some Hoosier hospitality. Pride of Indy Marching Band members also perform with marching groups assembled by the Lesbian and Gay Band Association (LGBA). These performances include the New York City Halloween Parade in 2008, New Orleans's Southern Decadence Parade in 2009, and President Obama's Inauguration Parade in 2009! |
