This Spring join the Lesbian and Gay Band Association and the Pride of Indy Band for the first annual Experience the Music.
Experience the Music is open to all members of the association and will be centered around music-making.
Highlights of the three-day experience will include a mixer on Friday, a social event after rehearsal Saturday and will
conclude with an afternoon Concert Sunday.

CONDUCTORS
Eric Knechgtes - Indianapolis

Eric is currently
completing his Doctorate
in Composition at the Indiana University
Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana.
He holds a Masters Degree
in Composition from Bowling Green State
University in Ohio and a Bachelors Degree
in Music Education from Michigan State
University. 

Eric also served for two years as band
director, chorus director, and Music Appreciation instructor in Addison Community Schools in Michigan, during which time he was also active conducting and playing in several community bands and orchestras, which he credits for keeping him sane and grounded.

One of his band compositions, :Broken Silents," a 30-year commemoration of the Stonewall Riots, was recognized for Special Distinction in the second annual ASCAP/CBDNA Frederick Fennell Competition.  He has also received awards in the National Bandmasters Association Young Composers Mentor Project, the NACUSA Young Composers Competition, and the San Francisco Choral Artists New Voices Composition Competition, as well as several commissions from public schools and community groups.

Eric is in his second year as conductor of the Pride of Indy Band.

Brian Worsdale - New York City

Brian P. Worsdale begins his second season as artistic director and conductor of the acclaimed Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps Concert Band. A member since 1996, Maestro Worsdale brings a renewed sense of energy and vitality
in his programming with this award winning ensemble. Brian has been lauded by critics and musicians alike for his innovative programming and his work on the podium.

Brian's conducting career began in 1995 with the founding of what is now known as The InterSchool Orchestras of New York (ISO) Symphonic Band. This ensemble of junior high, high school, and collegiate members is considered one of the finest youth ensembles in the Metropolitan New York Area. A protégé of Maestro Jonathan Strasser, Brian began his formal studies at the Manhattan School of Music Pre- College Division and then entered the ISO Symphony's conducting apprentice program. He is now the orchestra's Associate Conductor. This led to Brian's four seasons in the apprentice conducting round table program of the New York Philharmonic.

Celebrating his 14th summer, Brian serves as the Director of Music of the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts in Delaware County, New York. Currently he is Director of Music at a prestigious private school in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where he resides.
