ANNOUNCES 2007 BOARD AND OFFICERS

February, 7, 2007

INDIANAPOLIS – The membership of The Pride of Indy Band and Color Guard elected its 2007 Board of Directors in a highly attended meeting this month. On Sunday, January 28th, the newly seated body met for the first time and selected its leadership team.

This year’s board consists of Eric Munsch – President; Shelly Snider – Vice President; John Joanette – Community Liaison; Kai Holeman – Treasurer; Alicia LaMagdeleine – Secretary; Laura Blake (Membership Chair); Allen Browning (Fundraising Chair); Natasha Dowell (Marketing/PR Chair); Jef Fur (Artistic Chair); Bob Stuper (Board Member at Large); and Travis Tester (Operations Chair).

Incoming President Eric Munsch remarked “This musical organization has experienced tremendous growth over the last year. We thank the founding board members for their contributions in 2006 and we look forward to another banner year for the ensembles in 2007.”

“The Pride of Indy Band & Color Guard’s leadership team is nothing short of amazing,” commented Vice President Shelly Snider. She added, ”these eleven very talented individuals will serve the organization well in the coming months as we continue to grow our performing membership, our financial resources and our listening audience.”

“The first test for the new board will be the execution of the now-annual Spring Concert, which incidentally, is shaping up to be the best musical offering by the band to date,” said Artistic Chair Jef Furr. “The community should mark their calendars for Sunday, March 25th from 2-4 PM for this performance which will once again be held at the Indiana Historical Society,” he added.

Formed in the spring of 2005, the Pride of Indy Band & Color Guard (PI) has several talented ensembles in its family – a concert band, marching band, pep band, jazz band, woodwind ensemble and brass ensemble. PI now has more than fifty performing members.

The Pride of Indy Band & Color Guard serves as a musical and educational resource to the Central Indiana community and is comprised of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and LGBT-friendly musicians. Activities are conducted in a supportive, accepting and affirming atmosphere.
